EAST PRAIRIE -- Lee Roy Sullivan, 72, of East Prairie died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Sullivan was born Oct. 2, 1925, at Pulaski, Ark., son of Guy Samuel and Eunice Sullivan.
Sullivan was a retired farmer who had lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He belonged to the First Baptist Church of Campbell.
Sullivan served in the 281st Engineer Battalion in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Micheline Lucette Bezault in Paris, France, March 16, 1946. She survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Phillip Sullivan of Mayfield, Ky., and Patrick Sullivan of Clinton, Ky.; two daughters, Claudine Head of Herrin, Ill., and Kathleen Wheeler of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Thelma Wilkins of Little Rock, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with Brother Jay Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mounds City, Ill., National Cemetery.
