MARBLE HILL -- Funeral service for Lee O. Shell of Marble Hill will be held today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church here. The Revs. Fred Ritter and S.S. Borum will officiate, with burial in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home here from 9 a.m. to noon, and then from 12:30 p.m. to service time at the church.
Shell, 92, died Monday, June 21, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 13, 1900, at Marble Hill, son of Isaac H. and Henrietta Francis Shell. He and Metta Barks were married Nov. 12, 1921. She died Sept. 11, 1983. He later married Elva Thurston Gehringer.
Shell had farmed and also owned and operated Shell Feed and Supply Co. many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was currently teacher of its St. Paul Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mildred Thurston of Cayucos, Calif.; a stepson, Jim Gehringer of St. Louis; a stepdaughter, Agnes Lai of Lees Summit, and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
