JACKSON -- Graveside service for Lee Roy Allen of Jackson was held Thursday at Russell Heights Cemetery. The Rev. Philip Curran officiated.

Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Allen, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 18, 1918, at Jackson, son of Lynn and Alta Hall Allen.

Allen was a carpenter in the area all his life, and had worked at Penzel Construction Co. many years. He was a member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a brother, Joe Allen of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Hattie Slinkard of Whitewater and Mary Niswonger of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
