Leah Richardson

Leah Richardson, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, April 29, 2019, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born May 26, 1934, in St. Louis to Melvin Elliot and Evelyn Lorene Morton Masterson. She and Daniel Richardson Jr. were married March 26, 1950, at Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death May 10, 1990.

Leah loved the outdoors and sewing. She was very involved in genealogy. She volunteered and made floral arrangements for Saint Francis Gift Shop.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her two daughters, Margaret (Terry) Farrow of Jackson and Mary Jane (Gary) Palermo of Cape Girardeau; son, Dan (Cristy) Richardson III of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Daniel IV, Dustin, Dean, Lance, Amy, Lacy and Adam; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jean Hails; three brothers; and a sister.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating. Entombment will be at the mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be given to Southeast Hospice.
