SIKESTON -- Ella Leah Ladd, 92, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, April 24, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born July 21, 1903, in Yellville, Ark., daughter of George Washington and Susan Elizabeth Maxie Cooper. She and Samuel Austin Ladd were married Dec. 7, 1922, in Ravenden, Ark. He died June 24, 1986.
Ladd taught third and fourth grades at Cardwell, and had been an agent with several insurance companies. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, former member of VFW Auxiliary, was a former Gray Lady volunteer at Missouri Delta Medical Center and volunteer at Scott County Mental Health Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Jo Meisenheimer of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Billye Lincoln of Poplar Bluff; a stepsister, Essie Palmer of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a grandson, brother and sister.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Milton Pool and Jerry Harris officiating. Burial will be in Dunklin County Memorial Gardens at Kennett.
