CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for L.C. Cathron of Charleston was held Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church. The Rev. Wiley Reed officiated, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Sparks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Cathron, 72, died Wednesday, May 5, 1993, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born March 18, 1921, in Luxora, Ark., son of Jesse and Arleana Cathron.
Cathron served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include four sons, Teco Woods of the home, Tracy Oliver of Charleston, L.C. Bolton of Chicago Heights, Ill., Reginald Oliver of Columbia; two daughters, Cymetha and Dinah Oliver of Charleston; two stepsons, Lonnie and Ronnie Woods of Charleston, and 11 grandchildren.
