PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lawrence "Lonnie" Schott, 91, of Perryville died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Perryville.
He was born Nov. 19, 1918, at Biehle, Mo., son of Lawrence and Cecilia Schemel Schott. He and Ruby Boxdorfer were married Dec. 12, 1965. She preceded him in death Dec. 28, 1998.
Survivors include two sisters, Elsie Sauer of Perryville, Irene Malinowski of St. Louis; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Boxdorfer of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Sylvester.
Mr. Schott was a farmer. He was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, and VFW Post 4282.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. A VFW wake will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by the Catholic wake at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Maurus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites provided by the VFW and Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred to St. Maurus Parish Center.
