Lawrence M. Williams of Route 2, Jackson, died at his home Tuesday, Aug. 6, 1991.
Williams was born Sept. 11, 1907, at Jackson, son of Wren Williams and Elizabeth Tuck Williams.
He was a machinist for International Shoe Company and United Machine Company for 35 years, retiring in the early 1970s. He farmed until a few years ago.
He attended General Baptist Church.
He was married to Vida M. Smith April 10, 1925. She preceded him in death in 1986.
Survivors include two sons, H. Glenn Williams and Maple ("Junior") Williams, both of Jackson; daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Mae) Smith of Jackson, Mrs. Larry D. (Kay) Hoffmeister of Jackson, Mrs. Dale (Mary Ruth) Devault of Marble Hill; Mrs. Don (Betty) Cox of Cape Girardeau, Mrs. Gene (Evelyn) Langhofer of Talmage, Kan., Mrs. Larry (Hazel) Reid of Oak Ridge; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elfrieda Williams, of Jackson; two half-brothers, Harry Williams and Bill Williams, both of Cape Girardeau; one half-sister, Mrs. Bill Bowers of Cape Girardeau; 22 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, L.R. Williams; two brothers; and one sister.
Service will be held today at 10 a.m. at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
