ANNA, Ill. -- Lawrence E. Dewees, 83, of Anna died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at City Care Center.
He was born July 7, 1921, in Thebes, Ill., son of Newton and Julia Wagner Dewees. He and Rosella Verble were married in 1945. She died in 1961.
Dewees was a member of Mounds Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Green of Dongola, Ill.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 1 p.m. to service time today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Darrell Coleson officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Dongola.
