LAVERNE PARK

EAST PRAIRIE -- Laverne Park, 82, of East Prairie, formerly of Charleston, died Saturday, March 12, 1994, at the East Prairie Nursing Facility.

She was born June 12, 1911 in St. Louis, daughter of Orville and Rose Ellen Whitten Jones.

On Aug. 5, 1934, she married Lowell William Park, who preceded her in death on June 23, 1988.

She had lived in Charleston most of her life and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Betty Jo Horine of Paducah, Ky.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, one brother preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Combs, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
