CHAFFEE, Mo. -- LaVerne Langston, 72, of Hazelwood, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur, Mo. She was born Jan. 17, 1933 in Whitewater, daughter of Charles P. and Etta Leora Mullenhour Rhodes. She and Richard Langston were married June 28, 1964...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- LaVerne Langston, 72, of Hazelwood, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur, Mo.

She was born Jan. 17, 1933 in Whitewater, daughter of Charles P. and Etta Leora Mullenhour Rhodes. She and Richard Langston were married June 28, 1964.

Langston was a legal secretary.

Survivors include her husband of Hazelwood, Mo.; a son, Ken Langston of Maryland Heights, Mo.; a daughter, Cindy Manzella of St. Charles; a brother, Leonard Rhodes of Arnold, Mo.; two sisters, Marie Withers of Florissant, Mo., Louella Nothdruft of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Owens officiating. Burial will be in Stroderville Cemetery at Whitewater.
