Laverna June Borgfield, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born June 4, 1932, in Sedgewickville, Missouri, to Lauren Vern and Naomi Alpha Conrad.
She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. After her children were grown, she worked at Southeast Hospital and Saint Francis Medical Center for more than 25 years.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
She and her former husband, Bill Borgfield, were married Dec. 23, 1950. Out of that union came a son, Stephen (Terri) Borgfield of West Orange, New Jersey, and a daughter, Connie (Rick) Dunn of Willard, Missouri, and their children, Lorianne Danielle Dunn, Ryan Christopher Dunn and Richard Nathaniel (Heather) Dunn, and their children, Bryce Nathaniel Dunn, Aubrey Anne Dunn and Kayla Grace Dunn. Also surviving are two brothers, Harold "Sam" (Mildred) Conrad of Cape Girardeau and Mark (Bonnie) Conrad of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Muriel Marie Bollinger; and six brothers, L.V., Wilbur "Chub", Shirley "Jack", Paul "Diz", Jerry and Patrick "Pat" Conrad.
Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Graveside service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
