ANNA, Ill. -- Lavern Hartline, 90, of Anna died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at City Care Center in Cobden, Ill. She was born July 20, 1912, in Jackson County, Ill., daughter of Melvin and Ethel Penrod Godwin. She married Walter Lyerla, who died in 1947. She later married Francis Hartline, who died in 1990...

ANNA, Ill. -- Lavern Hartline, 90, of Anna died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at City Care Center in Cobden, Ill.

She was born July 20, 1912, in Jackson County, Ill., daughter of Melvin and Ethel Penrod Godwin. She married Walter Lyerla, who died in 1947. She later married Francis Hartline, who died in 1990.

Survivors include three daughters, Hilda Boyd of Anna, Janetta Burks of Metamora, Ill., Norma Robinett of Longmont, Colo.; two sisters, Opal Gibbs of Madison, Tenn., Ilene Nipper of Granite City, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two infant sons, two daughters, five brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Vandergraph officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
