LAVERA MINNER

JACKSON -- LaVera V. Minner, 78, passed away Friday, May 5, 2000, at the Jackson Manor.

Friends may call today, May 7, from 4-8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Danny Gast officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Mrs. Minner was born Feb. 9, 1922, in Bush, Ill., daughter of the late Arthur and Gertrude Herrington Darnell. In 1941 she married Johnnie E. Gast. He passed away in November 1990. In 1972 she married Bill T. Minner. He passed away in 1994.

Survivors include five sons, Tommy A. Gast of Orlando, Fla., Johnny R. Gast of Lebanon, Mo., Danny J. Gast of Bull Shoals, Ark., Michael A. and Don "Butch" Gast of Jackson; three daughters, Darlene Bridges of Taylor, Mich., Mary Lawrence and Terri Woods of Jackson; a sister, Marie Bennett of California; a nephew, Don Darnell of Jackson; 21 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Mrs. Minner was a nurse's aide at the former Deal Nursing Home in Jackson many years.
