Laura Beth Proffer, 51, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at her parents' home.

She was born Aug. 6, 1967, the daughter of Noretta S. Phillips (David) Blattner and James Ketcher. She and Joseph W. Proffer were married Dec. 31, 1993, at Cape Girardeau.

She attended Cape Girardeau Central High School.

She was a landscaper at various gardening departments.

She attended St. Andrew Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph W. Proffer of Cape Girardeau; parents, Noretta S. (David) Blattner of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Cortney Blaire (Justin) Aden of Cape Girardeau, Arikka Jo (Tony Walden) Proffer of Cape Girardeau and Morgan Rebecca Proffer of Cape Girardeau; grandmother, Marion Blattner of Cape Girardeau; mother-in-law, Patricia Proffer of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Kristi (Shane) Williams of Cape Girardeau, Jamie Ketcher of Atlanta and Sherry Holder of Clinton, Kentucky; four brothers, Mark Ketcher of Cape Girardeau, Dr. Reid J. (Dana) Ketcher of Hood River, Oregon, Drew (Ashley) Blattner of Oak Ridge and Scottie (Rebecca) Waggoner of Clinton; and four grandchildren, Aryana Boyer, Jeric Aden, Aurora Aden and Aria Proffer. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, James J. Ketcher; father-in-law, Bruce Proffer; grandparents, Alvin and Mildred Phillips; grandfather, Paul Blattner; and sister-in-law, Danette Ketcher.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will follow at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Martin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Ford and Sons Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
