ANNA, Ill. -- Laura D. Neal, 81, of Cobden, Ill., died Saturday, July 27, 2002 at the Lutheran Home in Peoria, Ill.
She was born June 27, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of George Henry Dubber ad Minnie Louise Frick.
She married Dr. Charles W. Neal, who died in 1980.
Neal was a veteran of World War II, having served as a registered nurse and first lieutenant in the Army Nurses Corps. She retired from the former Anna State Hospital with 21 years of service there. She attended the First Baptist Church in Cobden.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles W. and Judy Neal of Anna, and James W. and Patti Neal of Bakersfield, Cal. Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Laura McMahon of Chillicothe, Ill., and Lois and Steve McConomy of Springfield, Ill. One brother, Harold Dubber of Missouri, and two sisters, Lois Ross of Strongsville, Ohio, and Claire Wolfe of Medina, Ohio, also survive, as do 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the First Baptist Church in Cobden from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and after noon Tuesday until the funeral hour.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the First Baptist Church in Cobden with Jim Neal and Dr. Daryl Varble officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
