SIKESTON -- Laudie May Chapman Young, 86, of Sikeston, formerly of Vanduser, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1996, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born May 29, 1909, in Poe, daughter of the late Louis and Della Cross Garner. She was a housewife and a member of the Vanduser Church of God.

She married Clarence Chapman on Sept. 11, 1925, in Poe. He died April 19, 1964. She then married Howard Ross Young on July 12, 1969. He died March 22, 1977.

Survivors are two sons, Harold Chapman of Essex and Donnie Chapman of Vanduser; two daughters, Mary Stalcup and Connie Reece, both of Sikeston; a sister, Maxine Culbertson of Dexter; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Home in Sikeston until the time of services at 7:30 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Geneva Keith, assistant pastor of the Vanduser Church of God. The Rev. Mickey Vinson, pastor of the Vanduser Church of God, will assist. Commital services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan Stoffel, pastor of Calvary Temple of Sikeston, officiating.
