PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Larry Ray Sides, 80, of Perryville died Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at his home.

He was born Jan. 16, 1943, in Perryville to James Lonnie and Viola Louise Kiefer Sides. Larry and Sue Sarff were married Feb. 7, 1970, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

He was the owner and operator of Short Stop Convenience Store and Gas Station.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting, and loved to read the newspaper.

Survivors include one sister, Wilma L. Sides; two brothers, Terry J. (Jackie) Sides of Phoenix and William "Bill" (Karen) Sides of Perryville; three brothers-in-law, John (Lillian) Wojcik of Fairview Heights, Illinois, John (Pam) Sarff of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Earl Forster of Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Sally Sarff of Perryville; nephews, John, David and Mark Forster, Robert, Tom and Michael Wojcik, Bryan Sarff and Carey Griffin; nieces, Kathy and Lisa Wojcik, Emily Hager, Leslie Traut and Lindsay Querry; and many great-nieces and -nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue Sides; sister, Lillian Wojcik; and sister-in-law, JoEllen Forster.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Ben Melaku C.M. officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Liver Foundation, EWTN Catholic Network, American Diabetes Association or Masses.
