Larry Wayne Schlimme, 74, of Whitewater passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Larry was born Aug. 27, 1944, son of Millard and Fern Schweer Schlimme. Larry and Haroletta Green Schlimme was united in marriage Dec. 9, 1963.
Larry was a hard worker, kind, considerate and would help anyone who needed help. He had many friends and would give his shirt off his back for anyone he knew.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Haroletta of the home; mother, Fern Schlimme of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Angie (Patrick) Lema of Whitewater; brother, Ronald (Sarah) Schlimme of Columbia, Missouri; sister, Judy Bradley of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Megan Higgins, Crystal Dieffenbach, Erik May and Matthew Schlimme; great-granchildren, Jayden Higgins, Cael Higgins and Malichai Paul; numerous nieces and nephews; and friend of many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Millard Schlimme; and two sons, Andrew and Matthew Schlimme.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, with a visitation to follow at St. James United Church of Christ in Tilsit, with the Rev. Jim Schultz officiating. Interment will be in St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery near Tilsit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the St. James United Church of Christ Perpetual Care Fund.
