GLEN ALLEN -- Larry Gene Legate Sr., 47, of Glen Allen died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at his home, following an illness.
He was born April 10, 1949, in Granite City, Ill., son of John Elbert and Pauline Self Legate. He and Roberta A. Haffner were married Aug. 30, 1986.
Legate was a member of McGee Chapel Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Larry Legate Jr., of DeSoto, Casey and Billy Legate of Glen Allen; three daughters, Melisa Myers of Glen Allen, Alicia Legate of Boston, Ky., Donna Bari of Houston, Texas; his mother, Pauline Gibson of Glen Allen; four brothers, James Sr. and Jerry Legate of Granite City, Elbert Legate Jr. of Swisher, Iowa, Terry Legate of Marble Hill; three sisters, Orlean Clifton and Peggy Collins of Glen Allen; Brenda Danner of New Jersey; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clinton Massa officiating. Burial will be in McGee Chapel Cemetery.
