BLODGETT, Mo. -- Larry Gene "Frog" Cooper, 73, of Blodgett passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri. He was born Jan. 12, 1942, in Vanduser, Missouri, to the late Mary Davis-Cooper of Vanduser. He and Barbara Gail Beggs were married Feb. 17, 1961, at Blodgett. She preceded him in death May 4, 2012...

BLODGETT, Mo. -- Larry Gene "Frog" Cooper, 73, of Blodgett passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri.

He was born Jan. 12, 1942, in Vanduser, Missouri, to the late Mary Davis-Cooper of Vanduser. He and Barbara Gail Beggs were married Feb. 17, 1961, at Blodgett. She preceded him in death May 4, 2012.

Larry was a retired Southern Pacific Railways conductor and was employed from 1967 to 2000. He also enjoyed farming which was a lifelong passion. He was a member of Miner Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Shawn Cooper of Blodgett and Todd and Missy Cooper of Nixa, Missouri; a daughter, Amanda Cochran of Ozark, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Brittani Cooper, William Cooper, Hannah Cochran and Stephanie Cochran.

In addition to his wife and mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Gene Cooper; four brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Missouri.

The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mitch Jackson, pastor of Miner Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Forrest Hills Cemetery near Morley, Missouri.
