LaRee Jones

ORAN, Mo. -- LaRee Jones, daughter of the late Roy Lee and Mildred Young Wilhite, was born Dec. 11, 1944, in McGee, Missouri, and departed her life Thursday, May 19, 2022, in Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 77 years.

She was a 1963 graduate of Chaffee (Missouri) High School and former employee for Rice Insurance Co. for 12 years before joining her husband on the Jones Family Farm. LaRee was a member of Cape First and was devoted to her Bible study and church family. She was also very devoted to the family farm and being a "Grammy." Her grandchildren were the love of her life.

On Feb. 23, 1974, she was united in marriage to John Robert Jones in Cape Girardeau. He survives of the home in Oran.

Besides her husband, survivors include one son, Justin (Heather) Jones of Oran; daughter, Teresa (Ryan) McKee of Painton, Missouri; three brothers, Steve Wilhite of Morley, Missouri, Ronnie Wilhite of Rockview, Missouri, and Bob Wilhite of Chaffee; two sisters, Berta Lauback of Benton, Missouri, and Shari Austin of Chaffee; and five grandchildren, Colby McKee, Cooper McKee, Jacob Jones, Parker Jones and Emma Jones.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral will then be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, Missouri, with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
