Landon Tillman, 30, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 5, 1980, in Springfield, Mo., son of Darrell and Julie Nelson Tillman. He and Misty Newell were married Oct. 30, 2009, in Jackson.

Landon was a 1998 graduate of Jackson High School.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1998 and was honorably discharged in 2002. He spent three years in Germany and worked with the Patriot missile program.

He had worked for Nordenia USA in Jackson as a machine operator the past five years and was a first responder for the company.

Landon enjoyed reading books on the history of wars, but his favorite time was spent at home with his family.

Loving survivors include his wife; five children, Adelyne Tillman, Gracie Tillman, Gavin Tillman, Daci Tillman and Aidan Shaver, all of Jackson; his parents of Jackson; two brothers, Nelson and Evan Tillman of Jackson; two sisters, Cherish and Avri Tillman of Jackson; maternal grandparents, Dale and Fran Nelson of Jackson; and paternal grandmother, Nellie Tillman of Marshfield, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lowell Tillman.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dustin Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to Cape Girardeau County Foster Parents Association.
