DEXTER, Mo. -- Lamona Backus, 62, of Dexter died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at her residence. She was born Sept. 15, 1939, in London, Ark., daughter of the late Henry DeWitt and Agnes Braswell Becker. She and Jerry Lee Backus were married Dec. 29, 1963, in Bell City, Mo. He died June 25, 1995...

DEXTER, Mo. -- Lamona Backus, 62, of Dexter died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 15, 1939, in London, Ark., daughter of the late Henry DeWitt and Agnes Braswell Becker. She and Jerry Lee Backus were married Dec. 29, 1963, in Bell City, Mo. He died June 25, 1995.

She was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Tim Backus of Jackson, Mo., and Todd Backus of Puxico, Mo.; a daughter, Terri Ward of Dexter; two brothers, Desmond and Dalton Becker, both of Dexter; four grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dexter Church of Christ with Michael Yates, Jim Faughn and Dale Grissom officiating. Burial will follow in Hagy Cemetery.
