SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for L. Clark Thornberry of Scott City will be held at 11 a.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. William Dickey will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Thornberry, 79, died Monday, May 11, 1992, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 4, 1912, in Monticello, Ill., son of Newton and Elizabeth Williams Thornberry. He and the former Lola Troyer were married July 24, 1924, in Chicago. She died Jan. 1, 1989.
Thornberry was a self-employed electrician, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a charter member of Silver Jubilee Teamsters Retiree Club of Southeast Missouri. Thornberry was a member of American Legion Post 568, Elks Lodge 1810 in Chaffee, and Masonic Lodge AF&AM in Illinois.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Marjorie Durkin of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; a half sister, Mary Cook of San Jose, Calif., and two stepgrandchildren.
