Kristen Ashleigh Wilson, 37, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at 3:39 p.m. at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 21, 1981, in Sikeston, Missouri, to George Dwight and Sheila Kay Darby White. She and Jacob Wilson were married Oct. 23, 2005.
Kristen was a 1999 graduate of Charleston (Missouri) High School and a 2004 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, where she earned a Bachelor's in Computer Science.
She worked for AT&T for 15 years.
Kristen was diagnosed with stage-three, triple-negative breast cancer in March 2016. It metastasized to her bones and liver, and she battled for three years and had numerous chemo and radiation treatments. She never gave up, and she always managed to have a smile on her face.
Loving survivors include her father and stepmother, George Dwight (Carol) White of Perryville, Missouri; mother, Sheila Kay White of Bertrand, Missouri; husband, Jacob Wilson of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Taylor Wilson of Cape Girardeau; brother, Ryan (Sheena) White of Columbia, Missouri; two stepbrothers, Brian (Sarah) Moran and Jared Moran, both of Perryville; stepniece, Sydney Moran; and niece, Rian Ashleigh White on the way.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Taylor Wilson scholarship fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
