Kontrell Hale

BENTON, Mo. -- Kontrell "Konnie" Hale, 42, of Benton died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at his home.

He was born July 26, 1966, in St. Louis, son of Morris and Elizabeth Ann Vinson Hale. He and Kathy Joyce Todd were married May 17, 2003, at Benton.

Hale was an automobile mechanic at Ron's Foreign Car. He attended Unity Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Keagan Hale of Sikeston, Mo.; a daughter, Kyla Hale of Zalma, Mo.; his father of Benton; two stepsons, Timothy and Larry Hale Jr. of Benton; four stepdaughters, Jeri and Jamie Hale of Benton, Brenda Buckingham of Mayfield, Ky., Lisa Hale of Sikeston; six brothers, Allen, Paul, William and Tommy Hale of Benton, Nathan Hale of Champaign, Ill., Wayne Hale of St. Louis, a sister, Cynthia Crowden of Benton; and nine stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Unity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.
