Kermit Angel, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Lutheran Home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Kampsville, Illinois, to Hamer F. and Cuba Becker Angel. He and Velda Faye Warmack were married Dec. 21, 1963. She preceded him in death April 30, 1992. He then married Edith Mouser Barrett on Oct. 16, 1993, at Rend Lake, Illinois.
He worked at and retired from Alton Boxboard Co., after more than 30 years.
He loved to camp and fish and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
He was a member of Hahn's Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Barrett Angel of Cape Girardeau; five sons, Kelly V. (Marilyn) Angel of Belleville, Illinois, Richard (Mary Ann) Warmack of Alton, Illinois, Bob (Patti) Barrett of Sikeston, Missouri, and Brad (Tina) Barrett and Ron (Andrea) Barrett, both of Zalma, Missouri; three daughters, Cathy Warmack (Stephen) Forbes of Alton, Jackie (Mike) Tidwell of Qulin, Missouri, and Peggy (Richard) Hitt of Advance, Missouri; brother, Ralph Angel of Quincy, Illinois; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Velda Angel.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hahn's Chapel in Marble Hill, with the Rev. Ray Webb officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Illinois.
