Longtime Jackson resident Kenneth Lynn Waldron died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020. He was born Oct. 18, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Leonard Vernal and Edna Baskerville Waldron. Longtime Jackson resident Kenneth Lynn Waldron died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020.

He was born Oct. 18, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Leonard Vernal and Edna Baskerville Waldron.

Ken grew up in Farmington, Missouri, and graduated from Farmington High School in 1959. Following high school, he attended Westminster College and University of Missouri at Columbia, where he received a bachelor's degree in business (1963) and a juris doctor (1966).

He served as an officer in the U.S. Army Field Artillery and Air Defense Artillery, attaining the rank of captain. He also served as the aide de camp to the deputy commander of the Fourth U.S. Army, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Following his military service, Ken moved to Jackson, where he established a private law practice. He served as Jackson's city attorney in the 1970s.

Known as "Ken" to his friends in Jackson, he was an avid quail hunter and trainer of champion bird dogs, as well as an enthusiastic booster of Jackson High School football and wrestling programs. Ken also coached Jackson Optimist Youth flag football and T-ball.

He was a member of Jackson Rotary Club, Jackson Jaycees, American Legion, Quail Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation and First Baptist Church of Jackson.

Ken is survived by his three sons, Len of Bountiful, Utah, Matthew of Miami and Charles of Salt Lake City; and one granddaughter, Rune Baker of St. Louis.
