JACKSON -- Kenneth Ray Parsons, 57, of Jackson died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Jan. 29, 1942, at Perryville, son of William and Letta Gutherie Parsons. He and Pat Walker were married Sept. 23, 1961 at Cape Girardeau.

Parsons served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970, having served a year in Vietnam. He was a member of the Cape Bible Chapel and an active member of the We Can Weekend support group. He was employed by Southeast Missouri Hospital as a medical technologist from 1971 until his retirement in 1997.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Jason Kenneth Parsons of Bloomington, Ill.; and a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Parsons of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cape Bible Chapel. Hal and Don Greene will officiate, with burial to follow at the Cape County Memorial Park. VFW 3838 will conduct military graveside rites.
