GRANITE CITY, Ill. -- Kenneth P. Stovall, 76, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, July 21, 1995, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City.
He was born Nov. 20, 1918, in Crump, Mo., the son of James Hezekiah and M.J. Elizabeth Randal Stovall. He married Alma O. Phillips of Sikeston in 1942. She died in 1987.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, a retired cement mason and a former partner in a construction and excavating company. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in North Africa and Europe in the Second Armored Tank Division. He was awarded eight stars for bravery.
He is survived by a son, David K. Stovall of Granite City; two daughters, Donna K. Dark of Urbana, Ill., and Marsha L. Ruan of Granite City; a brother, Max Stovall of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, five brothers and six sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Werner Funeral Home at Pontoon Beach, Ill.
Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Lloyd Simpson will officiate, with burial in Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.
