Kenneth L. "Ears" McNeely, 73, of Cape Girardeau passed peacefully listening to oldies surrounded by family Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 11, 1947, in Cape Girardeau to Guy Lester and Aline Marie Bollinger McNeely
He and Brenda Strop were married Jan. 2, 1970, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death Nov. 20, 2014.
He was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and then attended Southeast Missouri State University.
He retired from Wetterau Foods after working there for several years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He attended Cape County Cowboy Church.
Survivors include two sons, Greg (Shelly) McNeely of Jackson and Corey (Amanda) McNeely of Cape Girardeau; sister, Jackie (Steve) Dannenmueller of Scott City; five grandchildren, Chase Sawyer, Cody Randen, Clayton and Dakota Werner, and Connor McNeely; and two great-grandchildren, Halia Sawyer and Carter Randen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister, Catherine Eifert.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be given to Southeast Missouri Food Bank and Missouri Veterans Home.
