ADVANCE, Mo. -- Kenneth C. Long, 85, of Advance died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1922, at Brownwood, Mo., son of John and Lena Boner Long. He and Mary Duncan were married March 17, 1951, in Piggott, Ark. She died March 9, 2003.
Long was the police chief in Advance 15 years, and was a school bus driver many years. He was a 1942 graduate of Advance High School.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Long of Advance; a daughter, Priscilla Kincaid of Jackson; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronnie Winchester officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance.
