Kenneth V. Kirk, 64, of Jackson passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Ratliff Care Center after a five-year battle with a rare form of cancer.

He was born July 11, 1950, in St. Louis, to Shelby and Alene Boyer Kirk. He and Veronica L. Allen were married May 3, 1975, at Guardian Angel Church in Oran, Missouri.

Kenneth was a 1969 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau, where he excelled in sports. He especially loved football and golf. He received a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Southeast Missouri State University.

He worked many years at Cape Auto Pool and later worked 11 years as a route salesman with Wiethop Truck Sales until early retirement. He was a member of Kimbeland Country Club and was the 2003 Club Champion.

Loving survivors include his wife of 39 years, Veronica, of Jackson; a sister, Sharon (Mike) Bader of St. Louis; and a nephew, Drew (Stacey) Bader and their children of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance with Kenny's wishes, there will be no visitation.

A memorial Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with the Rev. John Harth as celebrant. Private burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Siteman Cancer Center, Rare Cancer Research, Campus Box 8056, 660 S. Euclid Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110, or Southeast Hospice, 10 Doctors' Park, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703.
