WICKLIFFE, Ky. -- Kenneth D. Farris, 68, of Wickliffe died Friday, May 17, 2013, at his home.
He was born May 20, 1944, at Diswood, Ill., to Marion and Irene Huffman Farris. He married Penny Weber on Aug. 15, 1964. She survives.
Kenny was a member of Lake Milligan Baptist Church, Alexander-Pulaski Sportsmen's Club and Elk's Lodge No. 0651 in Cairo, Ill. He was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Farris of Wickliffe; a daughter, Misti (Paul) Blandford of Lodi, Calif.; two sons, Brad (Wendy) Farris of Kevil, Ky., and David (Elaine) Farris of Lone Oak, Ky.; six granddaughters, Paige Olson of Castlewood, S.D., Alexis, Madelyn and Jillian Blandford, all of Lodi, and Erin and Anna Lynn Farris, both Lone Oak; a step-granddaughter, Brittany Dakin of Mound City, Ill., a step-grandson, Lance Dakin of Wickliffe; a step-great-grandson, Landen Dakin of Wickliffe; his father, Marion Farris of Olive Branch, Ill.; a sister, Carol Ann Cox of Henderson, Ky.; a brother, Ronald (Edna) Farris of Paducah, Ky.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
A gathering for friends and family will be from 2 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill. A memorial services will be at 4 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Contributions will be accepted at the funeral home.
