Kenneth Alan Davis, 73, of Jackson passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
Kenny teed off June 24, 1946, caddied by his parents, Aubrey "Tiny" and Christine Davis. His sister, Janet (Ray) Galbreth, also walked the course with him.
In 1971, K.D. hit his first hole-in-one, when he married Jean Cowan. Over the next few years, their twosome blossomed into a foursome with the births of Kevin (Amy) and Scott (Debbi). Unfortunately, Jean played her last round in 1990.
Ken was lucky enough to be paired with a new playing partner a few years later.
In 1992, he hit his second hole-in-one, when he wed Sonja Hughey Reimann. Now, the Davis crew was playing a six-some with Sonja's children, Raunda Graham and Chad (Liz) Reimann, contributing to the scramble.
The club membership roles were further expanded through the years with the addition of PawPaw's favorite playing partners: Luke, Kayla, Elliot, Cody, Garrett, Natalie and Aubrey. PawPaw's best days were spent playing a round with his grandkids!
As he made his last walk up the fairway to the 18th green, he had a smile on his face, and the family and friends in the grandstands were cheering like a Sunday Masters crowd! Ken holed out Jan. 27, 2020, forever his family's club champion.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
