Surrounded by his family, Kenneth Lee Borgfield, 87, of Jackson passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at his home.

He was born April 18, 1933, in Jackson to Clarence and Edna Eakins Borgfield. He and Peggy Martin were married June 7, 1953, in Oak Ridge. They had been married 67 years when Peggy passed away Nov. 22, 2020.

Kenny was a graduate of Jackson High School.

Kenny was a private first class in the U.S. Army, serving honorably from Feb. 1, 1954, to Feb. 29, 1956.

He farmed 64 years, north of Jackson, and worked 26 years for Penzel Construction, retiring in 1998.

He was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fruitland; a member of Elks Auxiliary No. 2652; a 50-year-plus member of both the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star; and the American Legion, all in Jackson.

Loving survivors include a son, Steve (Carol) Borgfield of Jackson; two granddaughters, Sara (Adam) Meyer and Ashley Borgfield, both of Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Borgfield, Adalynn Meyer, Zoey Schaffer all of Jackson, and Grant Meyer of Oak Ridge; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two daughters, Cindy Borgfield and Karen Vogelsang; his parents; and a sister, Dorothy (the late Chester) Gerecke.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. An American Legion Honor Guard service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Dr. Rodney Pensel officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Fruitland.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery.
