Ken Stearns
Ken Stearns, 84, of Gonzales, Texas, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Gonzales Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1925, at Daisy, son of William and Ida Klaus Stearns. He and Evelyn Mikesh were married in September 1987.
Ken owned and operated Jackson Feed and Produce. In 1967 he went to work for the USDA as an inspector for poultry and eggs.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Bill Stearns of Jackson; two daughters, Sandy Hughey of Cape Girardeau, Debbie (Joe) McIntire of Perryville, Mo.; a sister, Georgie Carron of Perryville; four grandsons and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lyman and Herby Stearns; and a son, Kenneth Wayne Stearns.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gonzales City Cemetery.
