ZALMA, Mo. -- Kelly J. Shirrell, 84, of Zalma passed away July 25, 2015, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born August 8, 1930, at Zalma, the son of Edward and Lillie Morgan Shirrell.
Kelly retired from Owens Illinois Glass Company in Alton, Illinois, and also had been a farmer. He attended Shady Dell General Baptist Church in McGee, Missouri. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War.
Survivors include a brother, the Rev. Tommy Brewer of Bunker Hill, Illinois, and a sister, Wanda Ruth Shirrell of Zalma.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Roy and Robert, and a sister, Blanch.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Jack Farres and Edd Shirrell officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military rites.
