JERSEYVILLE, Ill. -- Katie Elizabeth Thompson, formerly of Sharpsboro near Delta, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville. She was 90.

She was born Oct. 23, 1907, in Mattoon, Ill., daughter of William and Clara Oliver Lenand. She married Mason Thompson on May 27, 1924, at Jackson. He died Sept. 22, 1992.

She was employed by the Deal Nursing Home in Jackson and Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, where she retired in 1972. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Jerseyville and a former member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and Allenville Baptist Church in Allenville, Mo.

Survivors include a brother, Glenn Lenand of Portageville, Mo., three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, two brothers, a sister and grandchild.

Visitation will be held Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 10 to noon. Funeral services will follow at 2, with Bill Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
