Kathryn Ann Richards, 56, of Oran passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, at Sikeston Convalescent Center, with her family comforting her. She was born Aug. 1, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of Mickey and Laura Carr McGuire. She was united in marriage to Nathan Richards on April 27, 2002, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran, where her parents are members. ...

Kathryn Ann Richards, 56, of Oran passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, at Sikeston Convalescent Center, with her family comforting her.

She was born Aug. 1, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of Mickey and Laura Carr McGuire. She was united in marriage to Nathan Richards on April 27, 2002, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Oran, where her parents are members.

Her parents left Missouri in 1970 for a job opportunity and raised their family in Covina, California, before returning to Missouri in April 1996, settling in Oran.

Besides her parents, Mickey and Laura McGuire of Oran, and husband, Nathan Richards of Oran, survivors include three daughters, Samantha (Dennis) VanDover of Honolulu, Islay (Jesse) McElreath of Dutchtown and Rebecca (Braden) Carpenter of Roy, Utah; son, Jayce Williams of the home in Oran; two brothers, Keith (Madelyn) McGuire of Racine, Wisconsin, and Michael (Penny) McGuire of Chaffee; seven grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews who love and will miss their crazy Auntie.

A celebration of life gathering, along with a private interment, will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to her Go Fund Me Page to help her husband and son. Kathryn was also a big animal lover and would appreciate donations being made to Mac’s Mission in Jackson or Southeast Missouri Pets in Cape Girardeau.
