Kathleen A. Jones, 90, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1922, in Whitewater, daughter of George W. and Belle Proffer Rhodes. She and Edgar O. Jones of Whitewater were married in 1939. He preceded her in death Nov. 4, 1998.
Kathleen worked many years at the Jackson Hosiery Mill, as a bookkeeper for Warren Skinner Plumbing of Jackson, and later as a bookkeeper at The Cash-Book Journal Newspaper in Jackson. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.
Loving survivors include three sons, Gerald W. (Clarice) Jones and Fred O. (Pamela) Jones of Jackson, Joseph Michael (Helga) Jones of Fargo, N.D.; a daughter, Nancy D. Jones of Janesville, Wis.; a sister, Lorraine Chandler of Whitewater; 11 grandchildren, Gerry (Amy) Jones, Gina (Tom) Raffety, Sarah (Steve) Wilson, Jolie (Brian) McCallister, Frederick (Shirlee) Jones, Polly (Kent) Koch, Nicholas Jones, Andrew Jones, Aaron (Debbie) Gruenloh, Daniel (Tara) Gruenloh, Stephanie (Andrew) Jadczak; and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Rhodes, and a sister, Loretta Wheeler.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tommy Weems officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in Jackson.
