Kathleen L. Conklin, 86, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at her home.

She was born April 2, 1929, in Keokuk County, Iowa, daughter of Peter and Leona Kanke Heisdorffer. She and Paul Conklin were married Jan. 9, 1948. He passed away Jan. 22, 2007.

Kathleen was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson, in which she was a member of the ladies aid. She served on the board of directors of VIP Industries in the Cape Girardeau area. Kathleen retired from Sears after working over 20 years. She owned and operated Kathleen's Quilting for over 30 years.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Paula Lorenz of Sikeston, Missouri, and Sharon Beussink and Saundra Guth of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Danny Conklin of Cape Girardeau, Terry Conklin of Jackson and Steven Conklin of Oak Ridge; a sister; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years; a daughter, Renee Conklin; and two brothers.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Joe Rowley and Sam Roethemeyer officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Emanuel United Church of Christ Kitchen Fund and Southeast Hospice.
