PHOENIX — Kathie Sue Peoples, 74, of Phoenix died Friday, April 12, 2024, at Dobson Hospice Home in Chandler, Arizona.
She was born Nov. 3, 1949, in Poplar Bluff to Vincent and Loreda Charles Oxley and grew up in Bernie. She and Kenneth Peoples were married July 31, 1971, and were happily married until Ken’s death in 2023.
Kathie began her career as a school teacher, but later discovered she had a gift for accounting. Kathie loved gardening, dogs and the picturesque landscapes of the Arizona desert.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelly Peoples of Phoenix; and two brothers, Charlie (Rose Mary) Oxley and Reggie Oxley of Cape Girardeau.
Kathie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Kenneth Peoples.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 27, at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at noon Saturday, April 27, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau following the funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be given to any local community food bank.
