MOREHOUSE -- Katheryn Parr Travis, 71, died Friday, Aug. 29, 1999, at the home of a daughter in Dexter.
She was born Dec. 27, 1927, at Crowder, daughter of Henry and Maggie May English Vaughn. She first married Troy Lee Parr April 8, 1950. He died May 21, 1999. She later married Vernon Travis July 8, 1968. He died Dec. 9, 1973.
Travis had lived in the Sikeston, Morehouse and Dexter areas most of her life. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Morehouse.
Survivors include a daughter, Anna Swinney of Dexter; two sons, Troy and David Parr of Dexter; a stepdaughter, Diane Travis; three stepsons, Dale, Donnie and Jerome Travis; two brothers, Raymond Vaughn of Canalou, Jim Vaughn of Morehouse; two sisters, Evelyn Webb of Morehouse, Mary Cantrell of Sikeston; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two sisters, and three brothers.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Rick Krietemeyer will officiate. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery at Matthews.
