COBDEN, Ill. -- Karl Marcus Sweitzer, 82, of Cobden died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at the Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.
He was born Jan. 14, 1919, at Cobden, son of Joseph A. and Alvina Vitt Sweitzer.
He and Marie White were married Nov. 15, 1947, at Cobden.
He was a lifelong farmer and member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cobden.
Survivors include his wife of Cobden; two sons, Karl Sweitzer Jr. and Kurt Sweitzer, both of Cobden; three daughters, Karen Sweitzer of Washington, Ill., Karol Gill of San Antonio, Texas, and Karee Sweitzer of Lick Creek, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. Monday. Rosary service will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Federico Higuera officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
