Karen R. Schack, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at her home.

She was born May 6, 1938, in Oran, Missouri, to John A. and Mabel Stuckey Hayden.

She and Malcolm Schack were married June 21, 1957, at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Jan. 27, 2017.

She was a 1957 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.

Survivors include two daughters, Julie Michelle McGrath and Melody Lynn (Cliff) Burgess, both of Cape Girardeau; brother, John Ronald Hayden of DeKalb, Illinois; three grandchildren, Kaitlin (Will) Kester, Lorilyn (Andy) Noce and Joshua Burgess, all of Cape Girardeau; and two great-grandchildren, Jayce Burgess and Lucius Noce.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

A private funeral service will be Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with Scott Coleman officiating.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
