Kacy Elwood Nichols, 78, of 1430 Cousin, died at his home Friday, Oct. 18, 1991.
He was born Nov. 11, 1912 in Henry County, Tenn., son of Everett Elwood and Ida Kennedy Nichols.
He was a self-employed welder and blacksmith early in his life, and then he was an ironworker for 40 years, working for Mueller Erection Co. in St. Louis
He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church of East Prairie and Ironworkers Local 396 in St. Louis.
He married the former Hattie B. Jenkins on Aug. 4, 1933 at Fulton, Ky. She survives of Cape Girardeau.
Also surviving are a son, Everett Lee Nichols of Cahokia, Ill.; two daughters, Clara Quick of Cape Girardeau and Jennie Marie Crafton of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Basil Nichols of St. Louis; two sisters, Kathryn Burkett of Murray, Ky., and Ruth Scales of East St. Louis, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel with the Rev. James Bolden and the Rev. W.H. Wren officiating. Burial will be in New Lorimier Cemetery.
