ANNISTON, Mo. -- Funeral for J.W. Coke of Anniston will be held at 10 a.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Mo. Burl Britt will officiate. Burial will be in Anniston Cemetery.
Coke, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
He was born July 15, 1915, at Bell City, Mo., son of Frank and Ella Kittle Coke. He and Eleanor Abbott were married in 1948. She died in 1986. He later married Shirley Ann Allen, who died Nov. 29, 1994.
Coke lived in Mississippi County most of his life, and was a retired mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Franklin Coke of Anniston, Richard Coke of St. Louis; a daughter, Mary Coke of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
