Justin Schmidt

Justin Louis Schmidt, 24, of Scott City passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Interstate 55.

He was born Nov. 16, 1988, in Blytheville, Ark., son of Gus L. and Darlene Tumlinson Schmidt.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Derek Cannon, Gus L. Schmidt Jr. and Michael Aaron Schmidt; grandparents, Travis and Della Deen and Don and Jean Fortenberry; his loving fiancee, Dakota Wilkinson; and loving son, Liam Schmidt.

Justin was a great hardworking and dedicated man. He most recently was employed by SEMO Box Co. and Schaffer Electrical Enclosures in Cape Girardeau.

Justin and his family had resided in the Cape Girardeau area since 2010. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and being a father to Liam.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to time for the memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday at Fruitland Community Church, 6040 U.S. 61 in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
